Big Stone Gap, Va.-Romona Kay Jones, 65, of the Crackers Neck community, passed away on Sunday, October 30, 2022, at her home, surrounded by her loving family.
She was a lifelong resident of Big Stone Gap. Romona was a 1976 graduate of Powell Valley High School. She was a switchboard operator for Wolf and Farmer in Norton, Va. She attended Cedar Ridge Freewill Baptist Church. Romona loved to read and work puzzle books.
She was preceded in death by her parents, William Edward Ballard and Wilma Jean Ballard.
Surviving are her husband, Mike Jones; children, Shauna Sizemore (Ty), Michael Jones (Kailee) and Candice Grosso (Wayne), all of Big Stone Gap; grandchildren, Tylee Sizemore, Mancyn Sizemore, Logan Koop and Daigan Jones; sister, Marena Callahan (Johnny), Big Stone Gap; and nieces and nephews.
Private graveside services were conducted at the Powell Valley Memorial Gardens Mausoleum with Jack Naeve, ministering.
