Dryden, Va.-Rickey Allen “Rick” Roberts, 58, passed away Monday, August 28, 2023 at Specialty Select in Bristol, Tn.
He was born in Pennington Gap, Va. and lived in Lee County, Va. his entire life. He was a retired coal miner with several companies. Rickey loved to spend time with his grandchildren. He was a member of Calvary Missionary Baptist Church in Pennington Gap.
He was preceded in death by a son, Daniel Ian Roberts; his parents, Walter and Helen (Spivey) Roberts; one brother, Daniel Eugene Roberts; and a sister, Carolyn Ashley.
Surviving are his wife of 39 years, Tammy Reece Roberts; son, Eric James Roberts (Emily) of Ewing, Va.; daughter, Caitlin Michelle Mullins (Tyler) of Woodway, Va.; four grandchildren, Trenton, Heath and Reece Mullins, and Ella Roberts; three sisters, Patti Roberts of Ben Hur, Va., Theresa Dean of Jonesville, Va. and Belinda Gilliam of Roda, Va.; and several nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends 5:00pm – 7:00pm Thursday, August 31, 2023, at Calvary Missionary Baptist Church in Pennington Gap. A Celebration of Life service will follow at 7:00pm with Preacher Charles Barrier officiating.
