Ewing, Va.-Max Jerry Head, 79, passed away on Sunday, May 8, 2022, at his home.
Jerry was born in Middlesboro, Ky., lived in Speers Ferry, Va., Big Stone Gap, Va. and had resided in Ewing for the past 20 years. Jerry was a U. S. Air Force Veteran of the Vietnam War. He was a Railroad Agent for the Norfolk & Southern Railroad., with 28 years of service. He loved woodworking and target practice. He was a member of First Christian Church in Appalachia, Va.
He was preceded in death by a son, Justin Head; parents, Phillip and Clara (Martin) Head; and two brothers, William Head and Phillip Head.
Surviving are his wife of 46 years, Betty Harper Head; one daughter, Saborah Stacy and husband, David, of Stonega, Va.; two grandchildren, Justina Whitmire and Lindsie Stacy; two great grandchildren; brother, James Head, Miami Beach, Fla.; and several nieces and nephews.
Services are private.
