Jason Lee Allen
Big Stone Gap, Va.-Jason Lee Allen, 34, passed away Wednesday, July 17, 2024, at his home, his loving family beside him.
He was born September 27, 1989 to Elizabeth Collins and Bobby Allen.
Jason was a unique man. Never knowing a stranger and he would talk to you as long as one allowed. He loved to help those around him in need. Sometimes not being able too give much, but giving all that he could. Willing to help, wanting nothing in return. Jason was a loving husband, father and a friend to many.
He loved his church family at Appalachia Pentecostal Church. Faithful in attending services, even attending during his diagnosis as long as time allowed.
When Jason loved, he loved big. He loved his family unconditionally, holding them near and dear to his heart. Sometimes he would say to those around him is: Love your family while you have them, they are not guaranteed forever. Most of all make sure that you have your life right with the Lord. Life is too short to wait.
Jason was preceded in death by his mother, Elizabeth Collins; his nanny, Roberta Collins; his papaw, James M. R. Collins; and his grandmother, Anna Mae Allen.
He is survived by his loving wife of 13 years, Elishia Allen; his son, David “D. J.” Allen; father, Bobby Allen; brothers, Robert Allen, Curtis Bloomer (Sheena); sisters, Maranda Ely and Tiffany Shepherd; nieces, Kamrin Allen, Paisley Bloomer, and Chryssy Bloomer; mother and father-in-law, Momma Joella Ely and Dad David “Pappy” Ely; many special aunts and uncles; and dear friends, Grayson Cothron and Nikki Anderson.
A Celebration of Life will be conducted 7:00pm on Tuesday, July 23, 2024, at the Appalachia Pentecostal Church, 340 Oak Street, Appalachia, Va. with Pastor Grayson Cothron officiating.
