Cecile A. Taylor

Big Stone Gap, Va.-Cecile A. Taylor, beloved mother, grandmother, great grandmother, sister, and friend, passed away at age 80 on Wednesday, February 19, 2020 at Wexford House in Kingsport, Tn.

   She was a world traveler who lived in several countries throughout her lifetime, including the Middle East, Europe, and Southeast Asia, as well as many states in the USA. She could not have been prouder of her family, whom she adored.

   She was a member of the Heritage Church of God in Big Stone Gap, where she served as a committee and choir member as well as helping to prepare community dinners with her church friends.

   She was preceded in death by her parents, William Arch and Mollie (Collier) Allen; brother, Glen Allen; and sisters, Betty Buck and Helen McDonnell.

   Surviving are her daughter, Renee Taylor of Kingsport, Tn.; son, Mark Taylor (Wilma), Crestview, Fl.; two grandchildren, Aaron Davis (Lisa), Big Stone Gap and Kirstie Gordon (Mark), Crawfordville, Fl.; great granddaughter, Brenna Mae Gordon; two brothers, Jimmy Allen (Lucy), Speedwell, Tn. and Archie Allen, Caribou, Me.; and several nieces and nephews.

    A graveside service will be conducted 10:00am Friday, Feb. 21, 2020 at Glencoe Cemetery in Big Stone Gap with Rev. Raymond Moore officiating.  The family and friends will meet at Gilliam Funeral Home by 9:30am Friday to go in procession.

    The family requests, in lieu of flowers, that donations be made to Heritage Church of God, 775 Wood Ave., E., Big Stone Gap, Va.  24219.
