Keokee, VA - Roy Lee Collins, Jr. passed away Saturday, February 24, 2018, at his residence in Keokee, VA. He had been a coal miner and was a member of Cedar Ridge Baptist Church.
He was preceded in death by his father, Roy Lee Collins, Sr.; his mother, Roberta Evans Collins and his step-mother, Thelma Lee Stidham Collins.
Roy is survived by his wife, Kim Collins; his children, Cheyenne Collins and Braxton Collins; his brothers, Tony Shockley of Wise, VA and Johnny Shockley of Norton, VA; several aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, and nephews, and a host of friends. He is also survived by his father & mother-in-law, Danny and Karen Fuson of Big Stone Gap, VA; a special uncle, Jimmy Collins; a special aunt, who is more like a sister, Alice Collins and his brother-in-law, Danny Fuson.
The family will receive friends on Wednesday, February 28, 2018, from 5:00-7:00pm at Gilliam Funeral Home, 618 Wood Ave. W, Big Stone Gap, VA. Funeral services will follow at 7:00 pm with Pastor James Holcomb officiating.
Graveside services will be held Thursday, March 1, 2018, at 11:00am in Powell Valley Memorial Gardens, Big Stone Gap with Dr. Roy Smith officiating. Family and friends are asked to assemble at Gilliam Funeral Home to leave at 10:30 to travel in procession to the cemetery. Tony Shockley, Johnny Shockley, Steven Messer, Jason Townsend, Grant Kilgore and Gerald Litton will serve as pallbearers.
Following the graveside service, family and friends are asked to visit and share a meal with them at Cedar Ridge Freewill Baptist Church in the Crackers Neck section of Big Stone Gap.
