Kingsport, TN - Larry Ronald “Ronnie” Mohn, 73, passed away Friday, February 2, 2018, at Holston Valley Medical Center, Kingsport, TN. Ronnie was a member of the Trinity United Methodist Church of Big Stone Gap, VA. He served with the Atlanta & Dekalb County police departments for 25 years before moving to Big Stone Gap, VA to serve as the Chief of Police for 15 years before retiring. He proudly served his country in the US Army.
Ronnie was preceded in death by his mother, Marie Rivers Mohn, and his grandparents, Homer and Rose Reach.
He is survived by his wife, Janice Rogers Mohn of the home; other family members, Lee Culbertson (Amy) and Beth Culbertson and grandchildren, Alyson Culbertson, and Avery Culbertson. Ronnie is also survived by his sister, Ann Nichols (Harold), Morristown, TN, 2 nieces, 1 nephew, cousins, and many friends.
Visitation will be held in the Gilliam Funeral Home Chapel, 618 Wood Ave. W, Big Stone Gap, VA on Sunday, February 4, 2018 from Noon – 2:00pm. Funeral services will follow with Rev. Ronnie Mutter officiating with graveside services held afterwards at Glencoe Cemetery, Spring Street, Big Stone Gap, VA. Family and friends will serve as pallbearers.
