NEW TAZEWELL, TN/BIG STONE GAP, VA - Bruce James Edds passed away Wednesday, May, 3rd, 2017 at Baylor All Saints Medical Center in Fort Worth, Texas.
Bruce was a Christian and has joined many family members and friends in Heaven.
He was employed as a long distance truck driver with Danny Herman Trucking (DHT), Mountain City, TN a proud Christian based organization that tries to fulfill the Great Commission through it’s ministry efforts. Bruce was born and raised in Detroit, MI and continued to be a great fan of the Detroit Tigers and any other sport that was supported by the great city of Detroit, MI. Bruce was a great storyteller; had a huge giving heart, and took care of all that he could.
Bruce was a very proud and loving father, papaw, husband, brother, son, and friend to many. His parents, James and Emma Gay Lambert Edds and a sister who passed at birth preceded him in death.
Mr. Edds is survived by his very loving children, Brittany Edds and husband, Bradley Scott, and son, Dustin Edds, Big Stone Gap, VA; his twin brother, Brian Jay Edds, KY; sister, Paula Jean Edds, Gate City, VA; grandchildren, Waylon Eli Brooks, Layla Rayne Edds Scott, Abel James Edds Scott, Big Stone Gap, VA; a very special daughter, Whitney Moore, and loving companion, Clydetta Edds. His nephews, Adam and Steven Edds, great nephew, Isaac Jay Edds, and many cousins, aunts, uncles and friends, also survive him.
The family will receive friends Friday, May 5th, 2017 from 5pm to 7pm at Gilliam Funeral Home, 618 Wood Avenue W, Big Stone Gap, VA. The funeral service will be held at 7pm following the visitation with Dr. Lonnie Brooks officiating.
Graveside services will be Saturday, May 6, 2017, in Glencoe Cemetery. Family and friends are asked to assemble at Gilliam Funeral Home to leave in procession at 10:30am.
