Big Stone Gap, VA/Cape Coral, FL – Nila Eleanor Turner, 92, passed away Sunday, March 26, 2017, at Consulate Health Care of North Fort Myers in Florida. She retired from Machus in Michigan and had been an employee of the Country Boy Restaurant, Mutual Drug and Barbara’s Gift Shop. She was of the Baptist faith.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Ora and Alvonia Franks Dickenson; her husband, Edward Turner; her sister, Mary Helen Johnson; her brother, Jack Dickenson; her sons, Jack Turner, Samuel Turner and Glen Turner and her daughter, Katheryn Cheryl Turner.
She is survived by her son, Carl Austin Turner of Fort Myers FL; her grandchildren, Mike Lane, Elizabeth Lane, Janet Turner, Jennifer Romero, Shawna Turner and McKayla Coats and her great-grandchildren, Travis Lane, Trent Lane, Elizabeth Lane, Steven McClaran, Emily Reed, Alyssa Reed, Kara Reed, Christina Turner, Julia Romero, Shane Romero, Aylah Hannon and Grayson Hannon
The family will receive friends from 11:30am to 1:00pm on Thursday, March 30, 2017 at Gilliam Funeral Home, 618 Wood Ave. W., Big Stone Gap, VA. Funeral services will be at 1:00pm in the funeral home chapel with Rev. James Holcomb officiating. Music will be provided by Wayne Maness. Graveside services will follow at Glencoe Cemetery in Big Stone Gap, VA.
